Day in the Life: January 21st

6:30 Up and exercised!

7:00 Breakfast time

8:00 Helping out in the school library while they work on hiring a new educational assistant position

9:00 This kid has been obsessed with games lately

10:00 Art class time!

11:00 Heading home

12:00 Working on a sticker book he got for his birthday

1:00 Enjoying the sun and my current read

2:00 But since conferences are in a couple of weeks I have to be a little productive during naptime!

3:00 Snack time

4:00 Constantly battling to keep up with the mess in the kitchen

5:00 Picking up William from his after school STEM club

6:00 Skyping with Darrell's parents so Matthew can open his birthday present from them

7:00 More snacking (and a mess of new birthday presents!)

8:00 Off to bed

9:00 Catching up on emails (feels like as much of a losing battle as trying to keep up with the dishes!)

10:00 Enjoying a little bit more of my book before bed

Goodnight!

Day in the Life: December 21st

The calendar may say "Saturday" but our calendar says no rest for the weary four days before Christmas!

7:00 It's been a cookie factory around these parts the past few days

8:00 Showering up before tackling the day

9:00 Cookies lined up and ready to go to assemble holiday treat boxes for the shut-ins in our congregation

10:00 50 treat boxes times 1.5 dozen treats in each equals a long couple of weeks of preparation (but so much fun and such a blessing to be able to help spread holiday cheer!)

11:00 Prepping for some holiday shopping this afternoon--and make sure we avoid any Santa visits at the stores we are going to because those always invite chaos

12:00 Consolidating the leftover treats (which ended up being a lovely way to stock our fridge for the holiday season!)

1:00 Toy store number one. Brought the boys with under the guise that they need to pick cousin gifts for the exchange next weekend, but really, we needed a few more gift ideas for some of them

2:00 And toy store number two (love supporting our local toy stores!)

3:00 Enjoying some Veggie Tale holiday fun

4:00 Early dinner prepped...

5:00 And early dinner eaten...

6:00 (and 7:00) So we can get to a local production of The Nutcracker!

8:00 Two of my cousin's boys were in the show and it was So.Much.Fun. The boys loved it

9:00 Bedtime at last for the final boy

10:00 Putting the finishing touches on our 2025 calendar

11:00 Perusing my parent's 2025 calendar that just came in the mail (designing their calendar--and ours!--is definitely a labor of love, but I so enjoy the final product)

Ugh. Really need to work on improving this bedtime in the new year....

Day in the Life: November 21st

6:30 Up and done with my workout!

7:00 Normal kids (voluntarily) practice piano before school, right? Asking for a friend

8:00 Being able to shower while kids (aka Matthew) are home (and awake!) is a new level of parenting that I love

9:00 Give this kid a coloring page and some Sharpies and he has no problem entertaining himself while I shower (and beyond!)

10:00 Story and crafts at the Old Courthouse Museum

11:00 Mom forgot to pack a snack while we were out, so a clementine while Mom got lunch ready was necessary because someone HAD to eat RIGHT AWAY

12:00 Stories before nap

1:00 Enjoying the sun for the first time in three days

2:00 Still basking in the sunlight... but actually being productive this time

3:00 Snacks, typing, and reading--all the things happening after school

4:00 Screen time for the boys is reading time for Mommy--and hanging on to that last little bit of sun!

5:00 Our little sous chef

6:00 Off to Garrett's first orchestra concert!

7:00 Home for snacks

8:00 Cuddling with my favorite 4th grade violinist

9:00 Paying bills and all the other fun adulting stuff

10:00 Exciting win for the Yellow Jackets!

Yeah.... Not entirely sure what happened after the football game ended, but I can probably assume another glass of wine was poured while Darrell watched whatever highlights he could find and I putzed around on the computer for way too long. Whoops
