Day in the Life: May 21st

You know it's the last day of school when that wake up time is definitely later than it should be because everyone (parents included!) is ready for summer

7:00 But late wake up or not, it's eggs and toast for breakfast

8:00 My happy little boy enjoying a last quiet day before the chaos of everyone at home ensues

9:00 Still busy with the Legos!

10:00 Maybe some year I'll be organized enough to get teacher thank you notes to school before the last day. Maybe

11:00 Squeezing in some grocery shopping with just one little tag-a-long while I still can!

12:00 Lunch for the little

1:00 Back up to school to help with an ice cream party for the 5th graders (on what was probably one of the coldest last days of school and I'm pretty sure all the kids would have rather had hot cocoa than stand in a cold line waiting for ice cream)

2:00 Lunch for Mom, with a side of ice cream that Matthew was given but didn't finish

3:00 All the laundry, all the time

4:00 Chess is so not my thing, but playing games with my Connor is, so I guess I can make it work

5:00 Tacos!

6:00 Picking William up from a last day of school party so he can get to his last night of youth group

7:00 Getting ready to roll out (gluten-free!) sugar cookies to take to the lake for Memorial Day Weekend

8:00 And this kiddo right here did basically all of the work for the cookies

9:00 Prepping a celebratory First Day of Summer breakfast!

10:00 Working on our menu plan for the lake for Memorial Day Weekend

Not bad for bedtime considering School's Out For Summer! (Although who am I kidding, the boys will still be up at 6:30 tomorrow morning, so it's not like I'll get to sleep in or anything)

Day in the Life: April 21st

Sleeping in until 7:00 on a Monday? There must not be school today

8:00 Slapjack fun

9:00 Prepping dinner now, which must mean I'm dragging the boys out of the house this afternoon

10:00 But first, time to organize some materials for the upcoming PTO fundraiser

11:00 And then, lunch (eggs and Mac & Cheese!)

12:00 I swear someone always needs their fingernails cut

1:00 Off for some forced family fun!

2:00 First up, a hike

3:00 And then off to a park

4:00 But of course we have to be home in time to watch an afternoon show

5:00 Mom break while Dad finishes dinner

6:00 That's a wrap on dinner!

7:00 Cleaning up from some evening outdoor play

8:00 Alllll the books before bed

9:00 Lots more details to finalize for our PTO fundraiser

10:00 But not so many that I can't make time for some reading before bed

Happy Birthday William!

Happy Birthday my sweet boy! How will you be a teenager next (or more appropriately--"this", since this post is so belated) year?!?
