It feels fitting that my 1000th post is a Day in the Life post, because really, all I ever set out to do with this little corner of the internet was share about my little unglamorous and (mostly) unexciting little life. And while there was a time I actually shared specifics about the big (and sometimes little) things going on our in lives/house, life and schedules and everything else has resulted in this being the most sustainable way for me to (periodically!) get "pen to paper" about our life. Maybe sometime I'll get back to sharing recipes, and maybe someday I'll share milestones and celebrations other than birthdays, but for now, this works. And let's be honest, I'm pretty much just doing this for myself anyway, so I can set whatever expectations I want for what gets posted when.
| 7:00 I just love it when my kids destroy the kitchen before the sun is even up. Breakfast for four (especially when we do "made to order" breakfasts) is always a mess |
| 8:00 Much better |
| 9:00 Prepping for my baking group that is meeting at church tomorrow to make 10-12 dozen goodies for coffee hour treats on Sunday (and--from the looks of the recipes--I'm also starting to prep ingredients for the pies I'll make in NC over Thanksgiving) |
| 10:00 Pilates break |
| 11:00 Coffee in the thermos--I must be heading out on errands! |
| 12:00 Lots of baking in my future (including what must be a birthday cake for my niece, because I definitely see allergy-friendly ingredients that I usually only buy if I'm making stuff for my sister-in-law, so we must be celebrating my niece's November birthday soon) |
| 1:00 Chopped chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, mint extract, and green food coloring--I see the beginnings of a mint chocolate chip ice cream cake for my niece! |
| 2:00 It's a nice day, so early I go to school pick up to get a little bit of walking in before they are dismissed |
| 3:00 After school Legos are the best |
| 4:00 Taking advantage of the nice weather to squeeze in some park fun while we still can |
| 5:00 And then--of course--we end up playing football which we can play in the front yard anyway |
| 6:30 Forgot to get a picture of dinner at 6:00, but this is more fun anyway. We found a family version of Cards Against Humanity at our library and the boys have been LOVING it. So many giggles |
| 7:00 Quiet coffee shop for... |
| 8:00 Book Club fun for Mom |
| 9:00 A new favorite activity for this kid--timing himself on the Rubik's cube and recording the results so he can track his progress (and run other analytics on his data because math is 100% his love language) |
| 10:00 Eying a couple of new shirts for me (spoiler--I didn't pull the trigger and definitely could still use a few new shirts #momlife) |
