Day in the Life: April 21st

Good Morning Tuesday!

7:00 Breakfast time

8:00 Leading a Book Club for 2nd Graders is such a joy

9:00 Quick stop for errands on the way home

10:00 Can I just say that catching up on emails is waaaay better outside on a gorgeous spring day?

11:00 Also, I find my productivity is way better outside than in--moving on to PTO work!

12:00 Popping inside for a workout

1:00 But back outside for lunch

2:00 Not gonna lie, based on how the earlier part of the day was going, I have no idea why I'm not outside working on summer camp stuff for the boys, but apparently I decided to move inside

3:00 Although apparently not for long, because even though my three elementary schoolers are home I'm back outside cleaning up dead growth from last fall

4:00 Turns out dinner prep tends to go better when you are inside

5:00 As does eating dinner, especially when you have to do so early because you have to rush off to...

6:00 A band concert where 5th graders play together at the middle school they will be attending (along with current members of the band ensembles, which means if you look closely you can find two of my boys playing trumpet)

7:00 And the concert was followed by a "Welcome to Middle School" event led by the administrative staff at our middle school. And even though we already had a student it middle school (and even though I sat through the same presentation with our current middle schooler), it was definitely good for Garrett to sit through the presentation ahead of his transition to middle school

8:00 Can someone please tell this child that April is way too early in the baseball season to start tracking records and calculating playoff chances? Especially when you are a Twins fan?

9:00 Look. I finally pulled the trigger on buying these lights and then made my husband hang them. And now I'm making him enjoy them with me. Even if we are both working. 

10:00 I've moved on from working, but he hasn't. That sounds like a him problem

Off to bed we go!

Gah! A teenager! But at least he agreed to let Mom make his cake this year, although he certainly gave me a good challenge!

Day in the Life: March 21st

Snoozing my alarm but knowing I should get up and start tackling the day

8:00 First up: what to wear

9:00 Off to church for more baking

10:00 And my nephew got to join us this time!

11:00 Finishing up a few pans of bars with a mix of homemade and store bought frosting (it's all about balance!)

12:00 Home and time to unpack

1:00 Getting off my feet for a few minutes

2:00 Quick run to the grocery store

3:00 Tackling some PTO work at my parent's house while the cousins play

4:00 Then off to tackling some of my unread texts and emails (which I know, this may not be a lot for some people, but it's a lot for me)

5:00 After multiple balls were hit into the neighbors' yards, I insisted that the baseball game get moved to a nearby park

6:00 Pizza and March Madness

7:00 Headed home

8:00 And giving some love to the puppy we're watching

9:00 I don't do skincare often, but every once in a while some night cream just feels right

10:00 I'll enjoy my drink while Darrell entertains the dog #thankyouverymuch

Off to bed!

Day in the Life: February 21st

No sleeping in on this busy Saturday (but then again, aren't they all busy?!?)

8:00 They always manage to make time for screen time though

9:00 Celebrating some new donations for my baking group at church

10:00 Constantly dirtying and cleaning dishes while we bake 12+ dozen of items for coffee hour

11:00 Wrapping up at church and off to do a kid swap at swim lessons

12:00 Home with a few of my swimmers and indulging in a round of Ticket to Ride, their new favorite game

1:00 Always a joy listening to my boys practice piano

2:00 Enjoying a little bit of downtime before...

3:00 Heading off to the next thing on our to-do list...

4:00 An Augustana basketball game!

5:00 Always a fun way to spend an afternoon

6:00 Home and love being able to grab a quick dinner out of the crockpot

7:00 Getting ready for snacktime

8:00 Never not doing laundry (especially during swim lessons!)

9:00 Shopping for some fun goodies for Darrell's staff

10:00 Cheers and...
